Won't you be my neighbor? A 6-Year Golden Local's Advice for Anyone Moving Here
I've lived in Golden for six years and think it's the best neighborhood for deep friendships, raising kids, and hiking. I can hike a real mountain steps from my door with a 35 lb kid on my back and another one asking me approximately 702 questions per minute.
If you're moving here, this is the advice I'd give you.
Go for a walk
Like, actually leave your house and say hi to people along the way. I know, sounds old fashioned.
Introduce yourself to your neighbors
Bring cookies. Also, cookies open doors. Literally and figuratively.
Find your playground
If you have kids, this is where you'll accidentally make your best friends while pretending to watch your child go down the slide for the 47th time. If you don't have kids, skip this one.
Get a dog, or borrow one
People in Golden will walk past you without a second glance. They will stop and crouch down for your dog. This is just how it works. Adopt accordingly.
Hike South Table Mountain
It takes you straight into downtown and it will make you feel like you moved here for a reason. Because you did.
Make New Terrain your go-to place
Hiking. Mountain biking. Yoga. And yes, beer.
Why it matters if you're buying
These aren't just lifestyle notes. Walkability, neighbor culture, and trail access are the exact things that keep Golden's inventory tight and resale demand strong.
